We have all seen great lists of camping essentials, but there are some items you should not do without. I have been doing outdoor activities like rock climbing and hiking for years.
One of the most common problems that campers face is being unprepared for changing climactic conditions, consequently being ill-equipped with proper clothing and equipment for storms, sudden shifts in temperatures, wind chill factors and heavy rains. There are places to hike in every state and it is pretty easy to find info on-line these days. However, even in familiar areas you could just as easily get lost and you never know the quality of the printing on the maps, so do not risk getting the maps washed or smudged by rain or moisture.
Snake bites are not a rarity on camping trips, neither are falls and bruises. Snake bites are not a rarity on camping trips, neither are falls and bruises. Unless you want to risk a major problem, you are just going to have to check your ego at the door when climbing.
Remember when hiking to carry enough water. Slow down the pace of your life and take time to enjoy the great outdoors.
