For many people, summer is just not summer without taking a weekend camping or hiking trip. Planning a rock climbing trip is the same as going for an adventurous trip.
It is always better to go on a short trip to begin with, just to get the feel of the camping experience. A long hike places a lot of stress on your ankles and feet which is transmitted through your legs. Carry sufficient bottled water and also carry along a few water purifying tablets for any emergencies.
When you ve determined it's secure, you kick your crampon fitted boot into the ice. Veggies are also easy to hold and eat while hiking or sitting by the campfire. Once you realize that you are lost, it is time to stop moving.
Our first spring weekend trip took us to a beautiful BC Provincial park. Some campsites have specific park rules. I stopped getting blisters the moment I gave up hiking boots and hiking socks.
All in all, try to ensure you are well prepared, avoid solo trips the first time, check all your equipment before you leave and get some first aid training. Now go and sit around a crackling, warm campfire and sing some songs.
