Fresh or dried fruits are especially useful if you have children on the camping or hiking trip. One cannot deny the fact that people today are used to having the basic conveniences of living.
Carrying your maps and compass in water proof containers is very essential while on a camping trip. Things like the wind and water can destroy a lot of your equipment so you will want to do regular checks to make sure it is all still good. No matter how thirsty you feel, drinking water from streams and rivers can only compound your problems while camping.
If travelling with children, teach them to do the same and remain calm if they get lost. You will also want to take some time and research things like stoves and lamps before beginning camping. Technology has certainly been upgraded over the years with some truly awesome camping amenities.
Much like rock climbing, ice is a blast. Guided nature tours where wildlife and plant life are pointed out and discussed will educate children on the environment around them and the importance of nature.
