sunncamp palace tent for camping

You'll need to buy or borrow a tent for your first trip. Most every outdoor activities you'll need can be found right at home.

Spiked soles that clamp to the soles of your boots, called crampons are required for keeping traction on the ice. Indoor climbing is a good place to start because it is far less intimidating to ease your way into the sport. If you are going to be backpacking in running shoes rather than hiking boots, you'll want to strengthen your ankles.

No matter what style of climbing you try, you are looking at a high calorie workout. Survival knives are supposed to be able to handle just about anything that you need them to do, from sawing through branches that can be used to make a shelter to catching and cleaning animals for food or digging for roots. Favorite fruits and veggies that pack well include carrot sticks, celery, raw broccoli and raw cauliflower.

Take a course on map reading and finding directions before your trip. Many places can even provide you with guides who are experts in climbing. Unless you want to risk a major problem, you are just going to have to check your ego at the door when climbing.

Hiking will not only make you more fit, it will also help reduce stress and allow you plenty of thinking time. The possibilities are endless, so get out there.
