Camping and hiking are both great ways to spend some time bonding with the whole family. One cannot deny the fact that people today are used to having the basic conveniences of living.
When camping, you will have to pack extra propane bottles, the older liquid gas lanterns give off just as much light but you will have to refill the tank with liquid gas and this can be messy as well as dangerous if you are not careful. There are many places all over North America for family camping fun. Hiking can be done in any outdoor setting, but I personally love hiking in mountains.
If you are opting for more rustic and rugged locations then you may need all the gear, tents, accessories to set up the tents, sleeping bags that suit the weather conditions, cooking stove, cooking utensils, your fishing equipment if you are looking forward to fish on the menu and all the other camping gear necessities like matches, flashlights, insect repellants and first aid kits which are so essential for any successful camping experience. Some of the things that you can t do without are good quality hiking gear such as boots and waterproof, lightweight clothing to provide warmth and protection from the elements. The ideal climbing wall has several levels of difficulty and caters to both experts, honing their skills, and beginners learning new ones.
Not until we camped in British Columbia did we learn what camping was all about. Bring along a camera, binoculars and a magnifying glass on your camping and hiking trips as their will be lots to see. If the socks are wet, replace them and hang the wet ones from your pack to dry.
There are many types of camping to choose from, depending on your budget and taste for roughing it. Get out there and try it!
