Camping and hiking outdoors provides friends and families the perfect opportunity to spend some time together away from the stressful routine of urban living. Camping or hiking trips are a great way for kids to enjoy their summer vacation away from their parents.

If you carry your backpack for long periods of time, It can eventually affect your entire body, particularly your back. You can camp alone or with your family. Overnight camping trips are a good idea as by the end of the trip you have a fair idea of what all you need and it will help you prepare a checklist, which can be referred to for future trips.

With hiking, comfort really isn t a luxury. Make sure to bring along a first aid kit complete with sterile bandages, gauze and disinfectant. Tucking pant cuffs into socks and boots will protect skin from being exposed to ticks and fleas.

Map and compass are a good idea of course, and tell someone where you'll be. Indoor climbing is a safe way to get a feel for the sport of rock climbing.
